Agent Karen Lurie isn't exactly new to Seeff. But after a five-year hiatus, we're delighted to have her back where she'll be serving buyers and sellers in the housing market - specifically in Bantry Bay, Fresnaye, Sea Point and Green Point.

A long-time resident of the Atlantic seaboard, Karen's lived either in Sea Point or Fresnaye her whole life. Her love for property is a family trait - inherited from her mother.

"While I was growing up my mother had a very successful Property Agency. I grew up visiting my mom's show days with my dad almost every Sunday, living through her excitement and elation when closing deals, and even helping her put up show boards. I can certainly say I have property flowing through my blood."

Karen partnered with her mother at an agency over 21 years ago, subsequently moving to Seeff where she sold homes in the Atlantic Seaboard for over 11 years.

Like many of her clients, Karen's priority is her community and family. She's raised children (now 24 and 27) and is deeply invested in the surrounding schools and shuls. "Living in the same area for my entire life has allowed me to see the changes in the area. All my life experiences are interlocked in the colourful fabric of the Atlantic Seaboard."

She leverages the intimate knowledge of her areas for her clients, whom she enjoys networking with in her downtime, allowing work and life to flow together - preferably over good coffee or walks along the promenade. 

When asked what excites her about her areas of expertise, Karen is quick to answer. "Fresnaye and Bantry Bay have a unique appeal with their mountain backdrop and proximity to magnificent beaches. The scenic surrounds are incredibly special by world standards." 

Karen's been in the industry for just about her whole working life. So what motivated her to return to Seeff? She answers that brand presence and innovation are high on the list.

"I want to work for a company that has a strong brand presence. A company that people will think of first if they are buying or selling. A company that is innovative and moves with the times. A company that is successful with an outstanding track record. A company that has a strong marketing and social media presence. Seeff offers all of the above."

If you're looking to buy this year, Karen's advice is to go for it. She cautions that the growing semigration trend and a lack of stock will only push up local prices. Similarly, she cautions sellers to price competitively and not to rely on hope.

As for why you should pick Karen; her extensive knowledge of her areas, her network and her genuine interest in doing her very best for her clients means you'd be in exceptionally safe and capable hands.
