Seeff Atlantic Seaboard Partner with Oscar's Arc WOOF Project to Inspire Dog Adoption

"Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever."
― Karen Davison
While we might be in the business of finding our customers their perfect homes, there are many furry friends looking for their furever homes too. That's why we're incredibly excited to announce our new partnership with WOOF Project - the pop-up adoption initiative powered by Oscars Arc, a dog shelter founded by Joanne Lefson in honour of her late dog Oscar.
The aim of the WOOF Project is to change the perception of shelter dogs as being unsuitable or 'damaged goods' by allowing the public to interact with them in a way they might not be able to at a shelter. All of the dogs at the WOOF Project are ready to be adopted, and the process is customer-centric, and refreshing. In fact, since 2017, the project has spared over 2000 dogs' lives, increasing dog adoptions in the Western Cape alone by 40%.
If you're a Cape Town resident or visitor, you will probably recognise the WOOF Project from their iconic red pop-up container often based at the V&A Waterfront, or on the Sea Point Promenade. You may have even interacted with some of the waggy tails that bound in and around the containers. It's needless to say that you probably left with a smile on your face (and perhaps a new, very grateful companion).
Our new partnership means that Seeff will be donating keep our furry friends fed and healthy, and to assist with operational costs. We'll also collaborate on other marketing efforts to drive awareness about the WOOF Project and the benefits of adopting over 'shopping'.
"We know that our Atlantic Seaboard and town community are dog lovers who are passionate about animal welfare which is why I'm especially excited about this sponsorship," commented Ross Levin, MD of Seeff Atlantic Seaboard and CBD.
"I'd love to encourage both our Seeff homeowners and tenants, where able, to consider opening their hearts and doors to a furry companion who needs a home and second chance. After all, a house isn't a home without a dog," he concluded.
Volunteer or Donate
Even if you're unable to adopt a dog right now, there are other ways you can contribute to this wonderful cause.
WOOF Project offers the choice of three enriching volunteer opportunities. You could sign up as a home checker, foster hero, or 'Mover and Groover' (transport assistance).
Alternatively, you can donate any amount of your choosing via their website. A R1000 donation gives you naming rights to a dog, the chosen name will be displayed on the WALL OF FAME at the adoption weekend and you will be emailed a personalised eCard to send to your loved one should you wish to use this as an opportunity for a life-changing gift - Christmas is around the corner!
Have you adopted from the WOOF Project?
