SHOWING AREA PROFILE 1 OF 1

Three Anchor Bay at a glance

Three Anchor Bay is the tiny suburb that lies between GreenPoint and Sea Point. While it might be easy to miss, it is in fact one of the loveliest suburbs of the area, with upmarket apartments that overlook the sparkling ocean. It's also just 10 minutes from the city centre of Cape Town.

A brief history of the area

Three Anchor Bay is a small anchorage in Table Bay. Its name was first recorded in Dutch records of 1661, and probably refers to a defensive chain that stretched across the Bay and was probably secured in place by three anchors.

Climate

Three Anchor Bay boasts beautiful sunny summers and chillier winters, though it is largely wind-protected. The views of sunsets from the apartments that populate the suburb are nothing short of spectacular.

Schools in the area

Several schools can be found within Three Anchor Bay and the surrounding areas including Ellerton Primary, Sea Point Primary School and Sea Point High School and Herzlia Weizmann Primary. The French School of Cape Town is in Sea Point while Camps Bay Primary and High School, as well as Reddam, are also readily accessible.

Healthcare in the area

There are plenty of doctors and clinics in and around the Main Road of Three Anchor Bay, while it is also close to the major Netcare Hospital in Cape Town.

Shopping centres

Three Anchor Bay has direct access to Main Road, where one can find Clicks, Woolworths and other kiosks. Further up the road, the Artem and St John's Shopping Centres, as well as the Point Mall have all shopping needs covered.
Distance from key points (Airports/CBD)
Three Anchor Bay is just 20 minutes from Cape Town Airport and 10 minutes away from the CBD.

Restaurants

The Shop is a long-standing bistro in Three Anchor Bay, while Bootlegger Coffee Company on Main Road is ideal for coffee, breakfast and lunch. The Main

Road with its plethora of eateries and dessert treats like Moro Gelato is just a couple of minutes away, as are the vibrant restaurants of Mouille Point.

Special attractions

The little Three Anchor Bay beach is popular, particularly with sea kayakers who paddle out from Three Anchor Bay along the coast to Clifton.
Follow the curve of the road at the coast with Lion's Head clearly visible in the distance, and one meets up with Sea Point's busy promenade, and yet another well-known landmark in Cape Town, the Green Point lighthouse, lies behind one.

The promenade is never uneventful, whatever the time of day, and it regularly teems with people walking, jogging, rollerblading, skateboarding or simply drinking in the views from benches along the edge of the lawns on the seaside walkway.

There is also quick access to the city centre, the V&A Waterfront, Green Point's stadium and the Atlantic beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton.
Make Three Anchor Bay your home. Let it be your story.

Three Anchor Bay offers ideal apartments and homes, perfect for holidaymakers, investments, or living if you crave the best of both the Atlantic Seaboard and proximity to the CBD. Our Seeff Atlantic Seaboard and CBD agents have a variety of homes to suit your Three Anchor Bay dreams.
